Lawton Office
Community Based Prevention Services Coordinator - Comanche County

The Wichita Mountains Prevention Network (WMPN) is hiring a full-time Community Based Prevention Services Coordinator to work on underage drinking prevention initiatives in Comanche County. This position is grant funded through the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS) and will be based in the Lawton office.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Attend regular coalition meetings and community events

  • Attend mandatory in-state trainings (with occasional overnights or weekends), as needed. 

  • Create social media and paid advertising content

  • Draft monthly press releases related to prevention initiatives

  • Research best practices for reaching target populations. 

  • Investigate laws, policies, and ordinances related to alcohol and assist with preparing policy language enhancements at the local level.    

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Have a passion for substance abuse prevention

  • Comfortable with public speaking

  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented

  • Experienced with Microsoft Excel and Word

  • Must have reliable transportation

  • Experience managing websites a plus

  • Must be able to pass a drug screening and background check

 

BENEFITS

  • $18 per hour, 40 hours per week. (Regular office hours are M-F, 9:00 am-4:30 pm.)
